| Brief History: The American Foxhound is descended from the English Foxhound. They were brought into the United States by Robert Brooke in the 1650's. The dogs were later crossed with other British and French hounds and used to chase fox, coyote and deer. George Washington was a great fancier of the American Foxhound dog breed and kept a famous pack of dogs at Mount Vernon. |
